We are proud to announce that we are the first pet store in Hawai’i to take the The Humane Society of the United States’ “Puppy Friendly Pet Store Pledge“.

By signing the HSUS pledge, Calvin & Susie vows to not only never sell puppies in our store, but also work to end the cruelty of puppy mills. Says owner Alli via Examiner.com:

“We’re very proud and excited to be the first store in Hawaii to join this important campaign. We want to do all we can to raise public awareness about welfare issues such as puppy mills and the importance of adopting and giving a second chance to shelter pets.”

Says Inga Gibson, Hawaii state director for The HSUS, “Calvin & Susie has set a positive example of compassion and corporate responsibility for other pet stores to follow. We urge other Hawaii pet stores to follow this store’s lead and pledge not to sell puppies.”

Calvin & Susie joins 60 stores in the Seattle area in signing the pledge.
